The most popular of these, needless to say, is Orlando, home of Walt Disney World - which is probably one of the most exciting holiday destinations in the world and why so many visitors go there each year. However if you want to take the opportunity to explore the real Florida, then you need to visit our Florida vacations page to find out more. Where to go and what to do. Disney Mouse House's location is an ideal central base from which to do this exploring. However, if Walt Disney World and the Orlando attractions are your preferred destinations....read on! Orlando pool homesDisney Mouse House is one of those luxurious Orlando pool homes. It is larger than the average 5-bedroom Orlando pool home and its screened private swimming has been enlarged too so it also is above average size! For those visiting Florida you to go to Walt Disney World then Disney Mouse House is in the ideal location as it is only 12 minutes drive to the Disney World welcome gate and is within 30 minutes drive of all the other attractions. It is a beautiful and luxurious villa providing the best in comfort and amenities that adds value to, and enhances, Disney vacations. If you are familiar with the area, Disney Mouse House is located in the up-market 'Village at Tuscan Ridge' post coded Davenport but is on US Highway 27 (about five minutes drive from Interstate 4 - the main motorway that takes you to Disney). It is conveniently situated within minutes drive of a vast array of eating establishments. For those of you who prefer to dine and entertain at 'home' there are numerous supermarkets within easy reach. |

Golf |
|
Orlando offers the golfer a wealth of courses. It is not just Walt Disney World that attracts visitors to Orlando. Near Disney Mouse House there are probably in the region of 20 courses within just a few minutes drive. The most testing and, arguably, the most challenging course must be the 'Champion's Gate' course - an 18-hole championship golf course, designed by the legendary Australian golfer, Greg 'The Shark' Norman, that is only a few minutes drive away (no more than 5 minutes drive!). On the map above, the course is less than 2 minutes drive from the Interstate 4 where it crosses the CR 54 (Junction 58 although this is not shown on the map). |

Tennis |

Anyone for tennis? On one of your days off from visiting Disney or any of the other attractions why not try a game of tennis? In the 'Village' where the home is located, there is a clay tennis court that is FREE to use by any of our guests. The court is not often used so you should not have any trouble in getting to use it. You don't need to take any equipment with you as racquets and tennis balls are provided by us for your use. And no, whites are not compulsory or required! |

Restaurants |
|
When travellers go on their Florida vacations most, at some time during their stay, make use of the local eateries. No doubt too, when you are enjoying one of Tuscan Ridge's finer and luxurious Orlando pool homes, you will no doubt take the opportunity to eat out at some of the many inexpensive restaurants in the local area here also. Within 5 minutes drive you will find many of the usual and popular fast food outlets such as McDonalds, Burger King and Wendy's. For those that prefer the more formal family 'sit-in' type restaurants you will find a branch of the restaurant chains of Perkins, Beef 'O'Brady's, Cracker Barrel, Bob Evans and Denny's (to name a few), plus there are ethnic restaurants such as Chinese and Indian. Do be warned however, although food has some of the same familiar dishes to those found in the UK, the Indian cuisine is NOT the same. Possibly because it has been adapted to suit the American pallet. Personally I have not found an Indian restaurant I would recommend! More restaurants can be found a few more minutes drive away on US Highway 192 (just off Highway 27 where the home is located). You will find the chains of restaurants such as Carrabba's Italian Grill, Outback and TGI Friday's. For those looking for the more up-market, intimate and traditional type of restaurant you will find these too! |

Supermarkets and Shopping |

When using Orlando vacation rentals and private holiday rentals by owner, you will no doubt visit and enjoy many of the restaurants within the local area. There are numerous small and large stores for shopping all within a few minutes drive. For groceries there are two Publix supermarkets about 5 minutes drive away. One of the stores is at Champion's Gate (near the golf course detailed above) and the other (1/10th mile further away) just north of the villa on Highway 27. A little further north on this same highway you will find a Super Wal*Mart (just past the Highway 192 turn - see map above). Here you can shop for all manner of things that includes clothes, bedding, shoes, electronics, cookware, home wares etc. and grocery shopping too. Going south on Highway 27 just by the east bound entrance to the Interstate 4 is a new shopping area with a number of large stores such as J C Penney and Target. About a half-mile away (again south bound on Highway 27), there are a few small stores, a Walgreens pharmacy plus a gas station that also sells groceries. It also has a food outlet for hot and cold meals. |

Days Out |

Florida vacations shouldn't be just about Walt Disney World. Indeed, your Florida vacations wouldn't be the same without some days out to the beautiful sandy beaches to be found on both the Atlantic and Gulf coasts. Both coasts are between 60-75 minutes drive. On the Atlantic coast you have resorts such as Cocoa Beach, Daytona, New Smyrna Beach and of course the Kennedy Space Centre. On the Gulf coast you will find Tampa Bay, Clearwater, St Petersburg, St. Pete's Beach, Venice and Sarasota. For a bit of history visit St. Augustine - the US's oldest city. As with any location steeped in history, there are many exciting museums located in the area. The town also boasts 43 miles of pristine beaches! |
